I am so sad - I made this recipe today using a dark Caphalon bread pan instead of a glass 9 x 9 so that it could be cut into a loaf-like piece. I coarsley mixed the streusel making sure it was pea-sized before putting it on top. I just checked on it at the 35 minutes - completely doughy goo in the middle and one big melted pool of butter on top. :( On a brighter note - it does smell good, but it is not as pictured. Did I just mess up on the pan?

I tried these today and I must have done something wrong. I liked them, however the husband thinks the shell was "too dry" to me, that's shortbread. I doubled the batch, so to the second half I added another egg yolk. I liked them both ways.

I made these cookies with some improvisations...I used a chocolate pudding mix because that was all I had. Also, I didn't have 2 cups of chocolate chips so I used a mix of white chocolate chips, hershey's chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips. These are AMAZING!!

I've been making cinnamon rolls to sell at local markets and have been looking for a good recipe with orange. This looks great! Is there really no salt in the dough? It makes my husband happy when I try new sweet dough recipes. Sometimes I make so many experiments that I have to make whatever-sweet-treat croutons and crumb them for crumb crusts so they don't go bad! Cinnamon rolls are good that way.
I'm enjoying the heck out of your blog. I did a Google search for cinnamon roll cookies about an hour ago and have been here ever since. You are bookmarked. You are appreciated. You are famous! Grats on all the cool listing on your news tab.

There's a bit of travel involved and I can take them unbaked and tease everyone with the smell. Will this work in regular size muffin tins? I'm going to try to incorporate sweetened condensed milk (thanks, Aaron) because I may just be addicted to it. 8-}

Monkey bread was my first successful journey into yeast breads, but I will have to try your shortcut! I think I'll combine the recipes and dip the biscuit chunks into the butter before rolling in cinnamon sugar. After all, decadence is okay once in a while! It's good drizzled with your favorite cinnamon roll frosting, too. I'm enjoying your blog and can't wait to try the cinnamon roll cookies. Thanks for sharing!

I think I’ll combine the recipes and dip the biscuit chunks into the butter before rolling in cinnamon sugar. After all, decadence is okay once in a while! It’s good drizzled with your favorite cinnamon roll frosting, too. I’m enjoying your blog and can’t wait to try the cinnamon roll cookies. Thanks for sharing!

Saw this recipe on Pinterest. Made it today. They were a huge hit with everyone! My husband said they were better than a bakery cookie. My first try at the glaze was too runny so added more sugar. Next time I will use less orange juice to make the glaze.
As stated before be sure to chill the dough for ease of rolling into balls. This makes the cookies turn out more round and fluffy.

I saw this recipe on Pinterest and had to try it. These cookies are amazing! I want to know how you got your icing to stay - mine dripped everywhere! Too much juice maybe? Is it supposed to be similar to an icing thickness. However that hasnt stopped the eating!! These are a new favorite!!!!!! Thanks.

Hi,I am sooo glad to find this recipe.Back in the 80's I accidentally came out with a batch of cinnamon rolls just like this.I don't remember how it happened but everyone raved about them.They were more like crispy cookies than rolls.Of course I began making them from memory and wrote nothing down.Everytime I make rolls I think about these lil mistakes.lol Anyway,my dough is rising at this moment,these are totally awesome little treats.Great as gifts too.Thanks so much for posting!!!

I wanted to make these for my work xmas party, so I decided to make a test batch. They were delicious! I think the batter could use maybe one more egg to make them a little less dense, unless you have another suggestion (I enjoy a dense cake, but all my friends prefer airy-style). How has the frosting worked for everyone? It seemed like way too much powdered sugar and tasted grainy when it was all said and done. What I ended up doing was using the other 4 oz of the cream cheese package to try to balance it out (got good reviews on the frosting after that). I'm thinking maybe keep the 8 oz cream cheese and try half a cup to a cup less of powdered sugar. Thoughts? All in all these were FANTASTIC and I will definitely be making them many times in the future. Thanks for your great recipe! :]

Most people seem to like these. I made these as Christmas cookies, I am an excellent baker, I followed the directions to the letter. My husband and I did not care for these at all. This was a miss. I am glad others like it, but I was very disappointed. :(

Cinnamon flavored sweets are my favorite. I am going to save this recipe for my holiday baking. Add a few cinnamon chips to the batter could be interesting. Maybe I'll make half with and half without and compare. Can't wait to get taste testing!
